1. Sữa non – Thuốc kháng sinh tự nhiên dành cho trẻ
Bác sĩ thường khuyến khích các bà mẹ nên cho con bú sớm nhất có thể. Những giọt sữa non đầu đời này không chỉ mang lại hàm lượng chất dinh dưỡng tuyệt vời, mà các tế bào sống có trong sữa non (hay còn gọi là kháng thể) có vai trò kích thích cơ thể trẻ tạo ra các kháng thể chống lại các tác nhân gây hại, các loại vi rút gây bệnh, bệnh mãn tính...

Sữa non có vai trò như thuốc kháng sinh đối với trẻ nhưng lại hoàn toàn không có tác dụng phụ. Các chuyên gia đánh giá sữa non là một loại vắc xin tự nhiên với độ an toàn tuyệt đối. Những trẻ được bú sữa mẹ hoàn toàn trong 6 tháng đầu đời sẽ phát triển toàn diện về cả thể chất lẫn tinh thần; đồng thời ngăn ngừa được các bệnh về đường hô hấp, bệnh sởi hay tiêu chảy.

2. Sữa non giúp não bộ của trẻ phát triển
Sữa non có chứa một thành phần khá quan trọng mang tên ganglioside. Ganglioside được biết đến là một nhóm chất béo không thể thiếu trong việc phát triển trí não của trẻ, ngoài ra còn giúp cải thiện hệ thống đường ruột, ngăn ngừa khả năng viêm nhiễm đường ruột bằng cách thu hút vi khuẩn có hại và trung hòa chúng.

3. Sữa non giúp cải thiện hoạt động hệ thống tiêu hóa ở trẻ
Khi tiếp xúc với sữa non ngay lúc mới chào đời, do hàm lượng chất béo trong sữa non rất ít nên trẻ hấp thụ và tiêu hóa một cách thuận lợi. Lúc này, hệ thống phân giải thức ăn ở trẻ cũng vừa mới hình thành, vậy nên các chất chống oxy hóa và immunoglobulin trong sữa non ngoài việc giúp trẻ tránh được tình trạng xuất huyết mà còn giúp bảo vệ thành ruột yếu ớt của trẻ.

Ngoài ra, sữa non còn có tác dụng tuyệt vời nữa là giúp nhuận tràng, thúc đẩy cơ thể trẻ nhanh chóng bài tiết ra phân xu, đồng thời đào thải bilirubin dư thừa. Việc này có tác dụng ngăn ngừa bệnh vàng da, giảm thiểu nguy cơ mẫn cảm và dị ứng ở trẻ.
Sữa non có chứa những thành phần vô cùng quan trọng cho sự phát triển của trẻ trong giai đoạn đầu đời. Vì vậy, các bà mẹ thường được động viên cho con bú sớm nhất có thể. Việc làm này không chỉ giúp cho trẻ tiếp xúc với các thành phần dinh dưỡng có trong sữa non mà còn tăng khả năng kích thích tuyến sữa ở người mẹ, đồng thời hồi phục tử cung một cách nhanh chóng và ngăn ngừa nguy cơ mắc một số bệnh sau sinh ở mẹ.
